Who we are
As a teaching theatre, the Coliseum offers a creative and vibrant enviroment for learning. Our team of practitioners are highly experienced at facilitating workshops for all age groups ranging from pre-school to postgraduate level.
What we do
Children’s Shakespeare Festival in partnership with North West Drama Services – Drama in education for primary schools, that includes CPD and a performance on the Coliseum’s stage. Curriculum Enrichment – Bespoke, immersive programmes of work that engage children creatively and actively in subject areas across the curriculum. Secondary Partnership Scheme – A programme of master classes, ticket offers, CPD and an annual main stage, inter-school performance. Work Experience Week for KS4/5
Bringing culture to you
Where possible, our work is delivered in the theatre itself, giving students the opportunity to learn alongside theatre staff in the space. However, we visit schools daily to deliver programmes of work.
CPD for Staff
On Wednesday 16 May from 5 - 6.30pm, Kaitlin Howard, a fully qualified Stage Combat Instructor teaching with the Equity ratified Stage Combat organisation The Academy of Performance Combat, will deliver an introduction to stage combat.
Our Curriculum Enrichment session is suitable for Primary teachers. We lead teachers through a range of practical, creative techniques that can be applied to your day to day teaching.
