Who we are
More Music is a community music and education charity based in the West End of Morecambe, working throughout Lancashire, the North West and internationally. We provide a year round programme that covers a breadth of music making activity involving people of all ages and all backgrounds, including primary, secondary and SEND settings. We are one of the longest running and most highly regarded community music and education organisations in the UK.
What we do
We deliver creative music workshops in a variety of settings, including schools and community centres, working with all ages and ability levels. We have a regular programme of music making sessions at our building the Hothouse in Morecambe, including guitar, hip-hop, jazz, folk, early years, Chinese music and much more. We run community events such as the Catch The Wind Kite Festival and the Hothouse is a live music venue, hosting acclaimed musicians from across the world.
Bringing culture to you
We can support your Artsmark journey in a variety of ways, though curriculum support, bespoke CPD and high quality, diverse and inclusive musicmaking. We are a core partner in Lancashire Music Hub and can help connect you with partners and networks across the region. We can do a School Music Education Plan visit to your school to discuss your music provision and help you develop it. As an NPO organisation, the Arts Council Quality Principles are embedded in everything we do.
More Music is based in The Hothouse in the heart of the West End of Morecambe. It is a musical community centre used by hundreds of people every week for a variety of music sessions and a venue for audiences of up to 220 people, We put on gigs with internationally renowned musicians throughout the year.
CPD for Staff
We provide bespoke training to give your staff the skills and confidence to delver music in your school. These fun and inclusive sessions are designed to fit your needs and will inspire your staff.
